Get, Manage & Analyze Data

Data AnalysisWorking with data can involve lots of tasks and tools. For that reason, solutions and assistance come from a number of locations.

You may want to collect your own data or work with data others have collected. SSRI offers support with data collection; Duke Libraries Data and GIS services offers a wealth of information about existing data resources.

For data management, the Duke Library Data and GIS Services group has a great Guide. The Connection Bar can offer the following:

  • Assistance with software tools useful for managing and manipulating data, including Excel, Stata, R, SAS, SPSS, Matlab, MS Access, JMP and various other programs
  • Specialization in handling Restricted and Sensitive social science data

Data Analysis is a broad topic that covers cleaning, transforming and modeling of a set of data. We've put together a list of resources, consultants and workshops on a wide array of issues aimed at providing support to users of data analytics methods and tools.

For in-person advice on any of these topics, stop by the Connection Bar to see how we can help.
