SSRI Interim Director Sunshine Hillygus has been named a 2025 Insight250 winner by ESOMAR, a global community that connects professionals in data, insights, and market research from more than 130 countries. The Insight250 recognizes leaders and innovators whose work is shaping how research and data are used to inform decisions and create meaningful impact.
Hillygus was recognized for her contributions to survey research and data-driven insights, and for her leadership in advancing rigorous and transparent social science. In addition to her role at SSRI, she directs the Duke Initiative on Survey Methodology (DISM), which supports high-quality survey research and helps researchers across Duke design and implement data collection projects.
This recognition highlights not only her achievements but also the collaborative work happening across Duke to strengthen the role of data and evidence in understanding complex social issues.
