Changes in how the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) provides research consultation to the Duke Community

Wednesday, August 4, 2021

The provision of open-ended research consultation to the Duke University Community via the Social Science Research Institute’s Connection Bar unfortunately will not be provided during academic year 2021-22 due to budget cuts. Instead, SSRI will provide research consultation on a limited basis, and by appointment, via the Institute’s Applied Research, Engagement and Evaluation (AREE) team.

To request consultation, please fill out our Qualtrics form. Prioritization will focus on faculty and staff needs, with more limited help available to students than in the past.

Conversations between SSRI and the Duke Libraries are ongoing regarding how we can triage requests for research consultation, especially with respect to student needs, are ongoing. Director Don Taylor will be discussing with Deans, Chairs, and Faculty during the 21-22 academic year how to best provide the needed research consultation to the Duke community.
