John Killeen manages the Neighborhood Compass, a community indicators tool, for Durham’s Neighborhood Improvement Services. The Compass is part of a community-engaged effort to measure access to core services and needs, economic activity, housing conditions, and other phenomena throughout Durham County at the neighborhood level. His previous work includes researching growth dynamics and trends in demography and employment for the NC Rural Economic Development Center. John received a master’s degree in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Neighborhood Compass is the Durham Research Partner for Forward Cities.
