Kyle is a postdoctoral associate at the Duke Initiative on Survey Methodology (DISM) at Duke University. He studies American politics with a specialization in campaigns & elections, voting behavior, and public opinion.
He recently completed a PhD in Government at The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a graduate student affiliate at the Irma Rangel Public Policy Institute. Prior to joining DISM, Kyle was a predoctoral research fellow at The Center for Electoral Politics and Democracy at Fordham University.
Kyle’s dissertation uses multiple surveys supplemented with voter files and official contact records from the 2012 presidential election to better understand how political campaigns use issues to mobilize and persuade voters.
