Megan is responsible for coordinating research and evaluation projects in partnership with community-based programs as well as with campus-based initiatives. She enjoys working with nonprofit organizations to execute evaluation strategies that will help inform and strengthen their programming.
Before joining SSRI in 2016, Megan spent 5 years working at a local nonprofit where she evaluated and monitored implementation of county-wide early childhood programs. Her prior experience includes school-based social work, teen pregnancy prevention/positive youth development programming, and public health evaluation. She received her Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill and her Bachelor’s degree from Emory University, where she double majored in Sociology and German Studies.
Megan has deep roots in the Triangle. A Raleigh native, she has lived in Durham for the past 8 years and loves keeping up with the city’s burgeoning restaurant scene. However, when it comes to sports, her heart is in Chapel Hill! In addition to cheering on the Tar Heels, Megan enjoys cooking, running, watching documentaries, and taking way too many pictures of her adorable dog, Dexter.
