Stephen considers himself a technical jack-of-all-trades. His job straddles the border between server administration, database work and Web development. He's been working in various tech positions since college in the early ‘90s, including three research grants, five years at a dot-com and 11 years at a local nonprofit.

Outside of the tech sphere, Stephen is interested in science, enjoys hiking and canoeing, and working with his hands. He also cooks, gardens and does some woodworking. When you see him, ask about the solar filters he built for his telescope and binoculars. But wait--he's even craftier! He also has experience building tiger cages. Yup, tiger cages...

Stephen studied astrophysics and linguistics at Swarthmore College.
